World Famous Tenor Supporting The Court
The Court Theatre fundraising campaign has received a huge boost with the announcement that Placido Domingo is to perform in Christchurch, with profits benefiting The Court and the CSO. Theatre Chief Executive, Philip Aldridge, says he and The Court team are humbled by the commitment of the multi Grammy award-winning artist.
“Not only is this wonderful for The Court Theatre’s fundraising, it is wonderful for the people of Christchurch; to be able experience such world-class talent, particularly following the events of September and February, is just wonderful”, he says.
Aldridge says the re-establishment of theatre, music and performance in the city is a key part of the cultural recovery and the overall recovery in Christchurch.
“That is why we are working incredibly hard to raise the $4.6m dollars we need to ensure The Court is open again for Christchurch audiences, in December,” he says.
