  [http://www.summersunday.net/]New Summer Festival Announced!

Choice new Festival, Tuborg Summer Sunday, has just been announced and to celebrate, we've been given a prize pack containing two tickets and 6 drink tokens (3 per person = responsible drinking) to give away!

Happening on Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2012 just 45 minutes North of Auckland at Matakana Music Mountain, the festival will feature a line-up of kiwi favourites as well as a few expertly selected up and coming acts, including:

Kora, Fly My Pretties, Little Bushman, Tahuna Breaks, Electric Wire Hustle, The Nudge, AHoriBuzz and @Peace.            With sustainability at the core of the festival’s ethos, multi award-winning charity, Sustainable Coastlines, and eco-focused lifestyle magazine, Element, will be spearheading a range of initiatives to ensure the festival community has a positive impact on the beautiful surroundings.

One of the primary initiatives is a Matakana coastal cleanup, which will encourage festival goers to stop off on the way to the festival, stretch their legs, roll up their sleeves and get involved in a quick spruce up of the coastal area. And there's a good incentive too: for every sack of trash participants collect, they’ll receive tokens for free Tuborg.

To enter the competetion to win the prize pack, head to the Tuborg Summer Sunday page [https://www.facebook.com/SummerSundayFestival?sk=events#!/SummerSundayFestival?sk=wall], like it and then write a comment. The comp ends on Friday evening so make sure you get in quick! TUBORG SUMMER SUNDAYSunday 29 January - Matakana Music MountainGates open midday. As part of the tour, Fly My Pretties will also be venturing overseas for the first time and playing an exclusive Australian date at Melbourne's Athenaeum Theatre on Saturday 5 November.

To celebrate the Prettie's Australian show, Phoenix Organics is giving away a VIP experience to one lucky kiwi and their friend who will have the chance to fly to Melbourne and see the show on November 5. Howard Davis: Roddy Doyle's Grim and Gritty Rosie

Simon Nathan: No Ordinary In-Laws

The title of this short memoir by Keith Ovenden is misleading – it would be better called “Bill, Shirley and me” as it is an account of Ovenden’s memories of his parents-in-law, Bill Sutch and Shirley Smith. Their interactions were often complex and difficult... More>>
