Living the Dream at Outward Bound
By Ginny Semmens
For Judy Frith and Michael Harvey, both of Mangere, the chance to take part in Outward Bound was a journey in self-discovery.
Judy and Michael were both awarded a Kathmandu Live the Dream scholarship which is a nationwide competition giving entrants the chance to win a fully funded Outward Bound course.
Judy really wanted to expand her world when she embarked on her course last month.
As a mother of seven, Judy had seen two of her children undertake Outward Bound and says she witnessed first-hand the incredible impact it had on their lives.
She had been doing some competitive walking and after spotting the Kathmandu scholarship, she decided it was going to be her next mission.
