HANDMADE – Calling All Clever Crafters!
HANDMADE – Calling All Clever Crafters!
Wellington, 19 September
The call has gone out to all clever crafters who want to teach at HANDMADE 2012. Proposals for classes are now being accepted by the organisers of HANDMADE – the unique Wellington craft event that celebrates beautiful and creative things.
“HANDMADE is a festival for people who want to learn the skills and crafts of previous generations but in today’s context, using modern technology and style,” says HANDMADE creator, Melanie Walker.
“We are now creating the programme for 2012 which will feature more than 70 different classes across a variety of crafts,” says Melanie.
HANDMADE 2012 will build on the inaugural 2011 event and continues to offer people the experience of learning from expert and passionate teachers in a workshop environment with the goal of leaving each class having made beautiful items.
“Anyone can submit a proposal to teach, just visit www.handmade2012.co.nz for more details.
“This year’s event was hugely successful and inspiring with over 2,500 classes sold - people were buzzing at the event and afterwards on social media sites about how much they enjoyed the different workshops and the experience of learning to make things around other people who love all things HANDMADE.
“We know there are so many enthusiastic and talented people doing creative things in the HANDMADE space and we’d like them to be part of this event which brings these things together for people to come and learn in a friendly environment.”
HANDMADE 2012 call for classes close Thursday 13th October. HANDMADE 2012 – Wellington, Queen’s Birthday weekend, 2-3 June 2012.
