We have a winner! Paul survives Lost in a Box 2 and says it’s all for mum

23 year old Aucklander Paul Larsen is The Edge’s Lost Listener!

The Lost in a Box 2’s sought after secret location was finally announced this morning - 16 Wattle Lane, Raumanga, Whangarei. Paul owes his exciting win to 18 year old Hannah Jenking of Palmerston North whose final guess was 3.6cm off the GPS box coordinates. And since her ‘X’ was blue, she makes Paul the winner and takes out $10, 000 herself.

“I still can’t believe I’ve won. I feel a bit dazed, like I’m in a dream”, says Paul when asked how he felt about his win this morning.

“I’m so grateful to Hannah and am so happy her $10,000 is going to a good cause – she’s engaged, has a two year old and will be putting the money towards her wedding”.

Paul battled it out over 21 days, surviving some much –viewed ups and downs with Lilia and Pagan and kept his eye on the prize – $20,000 for his mum to finally finish renovating the family home. Paul is one of eight children and is very close to his family. His 13 year old brother is very excited about the X Box Paul is giving him that he won while in the Box. The quiet contender exercised patience and tested his long haul endurance to take out the grand prize, which was extended to $25, 000 thanks to the kind offer of Bathroom Direct in Auckland’s East Tamaki.

“21 days locked in a confined space with two complete strangers was tough but worth it because I had my heart set on winning so mum could finally finish the renovations she’s been working on for so long”, says Paul.

“I’m really looking forward to catching up with family and friends and getting onto Facebook to thank all the amazing people out there who supported me. Then I’ll tuck into the lasagne mum made me”, says Paul, who’s been surviving on his favourite Pizza Hut Meat Lovers Pizza while in the Box.

Paul and his mum are on their way to Bathroom Direct to claim their $25, 000 worth of prizes.
