Silver Ferns Streamed Live For The First Time in Australia
Ex-pat Kiwis living in Australia will soon be able to tune into live international match coverage of New Zealand’s popular Silver Ferns netball team. Coverage of the New World Netball series between the Silver Ferns and England will be brought to our fans via Sky TV and VantagePoint TV from New Zealand – refer broadcast schedule for local times.
Apart from those sensational Tests against Australia covered by Channel 10, Kiwi netball fans have long been starved of real time coverage of Silver Ferns series against the other top teams, but thanks to a new venture between Netball New Zealand and live streaming company Vantage Point TV, a trial service is being launched to the Australian market.
Silver Ferns coach Ruth Aitken says “We’ve always enjoyed great support from our loyal New Zealand fans in Australia when we play there. LIVE streaming on the Internet is a great way of keeping connected and sharing more of our international performances with our family and fans living away from New Zealand.”
The first matches will be the Silver Ferns versus England on October 3 & 6 in Auckland and Invercargill.
Depending on the success of the trial, the live streaming service may continue for Silver Ferns international series.
The live streaming will be on a subscriber basis, costing NZD$9.95 per match. Start times, match information and subscriber details are available on www.silverferns.tv
