Flying Nun - Garage 3 Reissue

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2011

GARAGE #3 - REISSUE

It’s Ok, It’s Alright, Oh Yeah! It's the third issue of the Garage zine, now re-released as a free PDF download!

Originally released in the mid-1980s in Dunedin by journalist Richard Langston, all six issues of GARAGE are now being digitally re-issued by Flying Nun Records as part of their 30th Anniversary this year

The third issue sees GARAGE comes of age and settles down to a standard format. Although pricing is shown on the cover to be a contentious issue with $1:50 crossed out and replaced with $1:00. Really, it’s bargain at either price!
This issue sees LOOK BLUE GO PURPLE talking about their Bewitched EP and the origin of their name. THE CHILLS chat about success, pressure and going to England. A SHAYNE P CARTER profile tells us that he has green eyes, was born in Christchurch and that he has good taste in music. BILL DIREEN and BRUCE RUSSELL reviews Christchurch’s Scorched Earth Policy “Dust To Dust” EP. While, one of the highlights has to be THE CLEAN interview, reading it provides a real sense what it was like starting up a band in New Zealand in the late 1970s and get a feel for the collective Clean dynamic.
