A Gannet Named Grace: Fun times learning with rhymes

Wellington, New Zealand – 7th November 2011

Fun times learning with rhymes

The latest fun and educational book from author Victoria Jones is now available.

Did you know that in 1945 a typical child had a vocabulary of 10,000 words, compared to the 2,500 average of today? *

A Gannet Named Grace teaches children about gannets found in New Zealand, and their habitat in Hawkes Bay. With a fun and fictional twist of how Grace learns to stand out from the crowd.

Author Victoria Jones was inspired to write the book after taking part in a Gannet Beach Adventure, and later discovered for such a unique attraction, there was very little to be found on gannets. This led Victoria to contact the owners of Gannet Beach Adventures and a local Napier artist.

Victoria’s use of child-friendly text, rhyming words and colourful images help children aged 3-9 engage in learning.
