The Dirty Sweets to support Urge Overkill at the Powerstation

Hot Auckland bogan rockers The Dirty Sweets are delighted to be supporting Urge Overkill at the Powerstation on March 6, 2012

The Dirty Sweets are going from strength to strength with a truck load of radio play and rave reviews for their new self-titled EP.

Their sound and show, described by NZ Musician as being akin to “the Munsters at an Acca Dacca convention”, will be a tasty entrée before the crushed velvet glory of Chicago rockers Urge Overkill.

Urge Overkill return fully armed with a back-catalogue of solid gold nuggets like Girl You’ll Be A Woman Soon, Sister Havana, Positive Bleeding, and new single Effigy.

Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.co.nz and Real Groovy, and the concert is proudly presented by Plus1, 95bFM, UnderTheRadar and Juice, 63.

The first Urge Overkill album was the Steve Albini-produced Jesus Urge Superstar in 1989. By the early 90’s, they were touring with Nirvana and Pearl Jam, before signing to Geffen Records, who released their beloved classic LP, Saturation. This year’s acclaimed release Rock & Roll Submarine is their sixth album and the catalyst for their live return.
