Rip It Up welcomes newest contributor Anika Moa

Here at Rip It Up magazine we pride ourselves on our outstanding stable of featured columnists, who number among them some of New Zealand's biggest media personalities, including TV3’s incorrigible David Farrier, the interminably cool DJ Sir-Vere and Rip It Up founder and venerable font of all music knowledge Murray Cammick.

Rip It Up is hugely proud to announce and welcome our newest contributor – beloved and unashamedly mouthy singer/songwriter Anika Moa.

In a new regular feature titled Ask Anika, Rip It Up readers can submit questions for our outspoken agony aunt via the Rip It Up Facebook page, using the #AskAnika hash tag on Twitter and AskAnika@ripitup.co.nz.

You can ask advice, ask Anika about herself or pose life’s big ones just to test her. Anika will then choose her favourites and address them in her own unique way in her regular column in the magazine.

Anika’s Mission Statement reads:

“As a regular contributor to Rip It Up magazine I aim to get to the bottom of your questions. I will search high and low for an answer. I will harass people, knock on doors for major effect, punch people who think its uncool to like bands like The Cranberries and Alanis Morrissette and I will be all grass roots because I am from Hornby, which is pretty f**king hori. I am really cool and will be nice to you. This isn't a ‘let's take the piss out of the guy who cant get a girlfriend’ column. It's a ‘hey dude, if you can't get a date I'll go out with you cos I’m famous’ column. My favourite movie is Titanic and I love Kiwi music so stick that up your a-holes.”

Not much we can add to that, except to say be sure to pick up the February/March issue of Rip It Up for the first instalment of Ask Anika, on sale 6 February 2012.
