The CLEO Cruiser Bachelor of the Year is back and is set to further heat up our long Kiwi summer. The iconic campaign – now in its 16th year – has always been a reader favourite. And this year’s in-mag ‘call to enter’ has again hit a sweet spot with the ladies, with many CLEO readers nominating their guy mates, uni colleagues, siblings and secret crushes.

The CLEO team and long-time Bachelor photographer Jackie Meiring agree that the 2012 CLEO Cruiser Bachelor Finalist Calendar (free with the February issue of CLEO) is shaping up to be a scorcher, with Meiring gushing, “this could well be the hottest line-up of Bachelors I’ve seen” after going through the nominee list (which continues to grow) this week.

CLEO editor Pamela Marker adds, “CLEO has always been the young women’s magazine to deliver the goods, and this year’s Bachelor competition certainly will not disappoint.”

The 2012 CLEO Cruiser Bachelor of the Year campaign looks set to expand further to engage readers through many different media touch points and magazine events. The 12 finalists will appear in CLEO February (on sale Feb 6, 2012) and the New Zealand public will have many chances to get to know the lad line-up via in-mag photo shoots and interviews, the man-a-month Bachelor calendar, public appearances, radio interviews and Facebook activity, and will ultimately vote for the guy they want to see win at cleo.co.nz.

CLEO magazine and Vodka Cruiser are also excited to announce the biggest Bachelor Reveal Party in the magazine’s history. Earlybird tickets are on sale now at ticketek.co.nz for the big night – Friday, March 30 – which promises to be an event to remember; featuring a Bachelor catwalk show, DJs and a special guest, Sydney-based Kiwi singer Dane Rumble!

The 2010 NZ Music Awards Best Male Solo Artist winner, who is currently recording his soon-to-be-released album, is pumped to be singing in an intimate concert exclusively for CLEO readers. “I’m looking forward to flying home for a special performance – it should be a great night!” he says.
