Panel: Whose Character is it Anyway?

Whose Character is it Anyway?

WELLINGTON, WEDNESDAY 21st MARCH, 2012

It can be hard for a writer to let go of the script and watch someone else bring it to life. Yet for an actor taking ownership of a character is a crucial part of giving a truly great performance.

After a successful night in Auckland, we bring the topic south to ask Wellington actors their views.

Actor/Producer Nathaniel Lees (Sione's Wedding, The Matrix) talks to Miranda Harcourt (For Good, Tangiwai - A Love Story) and Loren Taylor (Eagle Vs. Shark, Lovely Rita) about the actor's process, examining the techniques and tools actors use to move from analysing a script to inhabiting the skin of a character.

Note the new start time of 6pm.

Drinks 5:30pm, 6pm start, Wednesday 21st March, The Film Archive, 84 Taranaki St, Wellington. A $5 koha is appreciated.

Come along and enjoy a slice of pizza on us and a glass of wine.

The Screen Discussion Series is held in Wellington at the Film Archive on the third Wednesday of the month. Come along to hear from a range of screen organisations and practitioners and to continue the conversation with a drink after the event.
