Amateur Photographer of the Year competition opens

AUCKLAND, April 2 2012

Nikon and D-Photo are happy to announce the launch of New Zealand’s premiere annual amateur photography competition, D-Photo Nikon Amateur Photographer of the Year 2012.

Submissions are now being accepted for the biggest competition on New Zealand’s amateur photography calendar, with over $6000 worth of prizes up for grabs this year.

The D-Photo Nikon Amateur Photographer of the Year competition once again gives photography enthusiasts the chance to test themselves against the country’s best and win a swathe of great prizes, including a Nikon D7000 kit with AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED VR lens.

D-Photo is very excited to have Nikon back on-board for this exciting event, and with their support we have managed to extend the competition further than ever, with additional categories and an even bigger prize pool for 2012.

Jeremy Andrews, NZ Sales and Marketing Manager for Nikon’s local distributor T.A. Macalister, says the company is proud to partner with D-Photo for the second year running for the awards.

“Like our participants we have an uncompromising attitude towards the products we use and the images they produce.

“As the industry leader in digital imaging technology we pride ourselves in excellence and empowering the enthusiast within all of us.”

As with the previous competition there will be six categories to the event: SanDisk Travel, Manfrotto Landscape, B+W Monochrome, Nikon People, Lowepro Creative and a special Nikon Motion category.
