Trustees sought for UN Youth’s Trust

Trustees sought for UN Youth’s Trust

UN Youth is establishing the UN Youth New Zealand Trust to provide a safe vehicle for fundraising, investment and the receipt of charitable donations. There will be five founding trustees appointed to the Trust.

The object of the Trust is to secure the financial future of UN Youth and to raise $20,000 within five years. It will allow for funds to be accumulated, invested and redistributed for the benefit of UN Youth, its administration and educational programmes.

The Trust Board Selection Panel will recommend four trustees and the final founding trustee will be the current National President of UN Youth. The Trust Board Selection Panel will comprise UN Youth officeholders and alumni.

At least one of the trustees must be a previous UN Youth National President from the past five years. Ideally one of the trustees will have little or no previous UN Youth experience.

Trustees will meet at least three times a year to determine as a board, how trust funds will be best accumulated, stored and distributed in accordance with the UN Youth Trust Strategy and with assistance from the UN Youth National Council and National Executive. The trustees are required to report to the UN Youth National Council, held quarterly, and must also report annually to the UN Youth National AGM.

The trustees must exercise their powers in accordance with the Trust Deed. Please find attached or on our website the UN Youth New Zealand Trust Deed and Trust Strategy. If you are not able to find copies of these documents, please email Chloe.Muggeridge@unyouth.org.nz.
