Debut Performance Of Shen Yun At St James Theatre

Debut Performance Of Shen Yun At St James Theatre

Shen Yun Performing Arts will be making its debut Wellington performances at the St James Theatre, Courtney Place - Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 April at 7.30pm

Shen Yun is reviving classical Chinese dance and music and for the past several years has performed to more than one and a half million people in over 20 countries around the world.

Classical Chinese dance has a long history of thousands of years, passed down continuously within the imperial palace and ancient Chinese theatre and opera. Soaking up profound wisdom from every era and dynasty, it has become a complete system of dance embodying traditional aesthetic principles with its unique dance movements, rhythms, and inner meaning.

In March of this year, Shen Yun completed an acclaimed season of 13 appearances at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. After its Wellington and Auckland performances, Shen Yun will continue on for 11 shows at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney.

Audience members who have seen this show, recall it as being an experience of a lifetime - a moment so powerfully beautiful it touches the soul.

"It was so inspiring, I think I may have found some new ideas for the next Avatar" - Robert Steinberg, Oscar Winning Production Designer for Avatar.

"Demonstrating the highest realm in arts" - Cao Chi, lead character in Mao's Last Dancer.

Please do not miss this opportunity to join others from across the globe who have shared in the beauty and spectacle of Shen Yun. It will surely be an evening to remember!
