Blackadder III Live Promises Pure Entertainment
In May, Wellington Repertory Theatre presents Blackadder III, a production that will appeal to not only regular theatregoers but also anyone who enjoys the TV show.
The third series is based in the Regency period with Blackadder now butler to the witless Prince Regent and Baldrick raised to the position of dogsbody and general kitchen hand. The four episodes that will make up the show are:
• Ink and
Incapability (Samuel Johnson and the
dictionary)
• Nob and Nobility (the
Scarlett Pimpernel)
• Amy and
Amiability (the highwayman
episode)
• Sense and Senility (the
actors and the Scottish Play).
The 22-strong cast and crew assembled for this production are experienced and committed to delivering pure entertainment for Wellington audiences. By opening night they will have rehearsed for over 10 weeks around their fulltime jobs – ranging from GPs, to students, to IT managers.
“Our production of
Blackadder II (the early Tudors) in late 2010 was extremely
popular. We encourage people to book early for Blackadder
III to avoid disappointment,” said director Ross Miller.
The production runs 1-6 and 8-12
May at the Gryphon Theatre, Ghuznee Street, Wellington.
