NOW ON: This is the first week of our latest
exhibition BLIND – interactive works by Diane
Rimmer. Check out our website to view a sample of
the work via slideshow by clicking here. Better still
– come on in and take your time while you get hands-on and
discover the stories behind the works. Comments from our
visitors book already include: “Fascinating! Most

• REGISTRATION NOW OPEN: July brings our 5th annual Titirangi Community Arts Council (TCAC) Emerging Artist Awards. We’re on the lookout for emergent visual artists across Auckland. 20 works will be selected for a month long exhibition in the Upstairs Gallery in Lopdell House, and from those 20 works, 2 will be awarded grants – one for $1000 and another for $500. Additional prizes of gift vouchers and publication are in the mix too. Judges this year are Linda Tyler (Director, Centre for Art Research, The University of Auckland), Regan Gentry (BFA), Paul Sinnett (Gordon Harris), Jo Duggan (Resene). • GO FOR A NIGHT OUT AT LOPDELL HOUSE: Do or Di? Herschel Herscher hosts a fun-filled musical event. Add singers Anna Rugis and Linn Lorkin and you have a top professional vocal trio. This fabulous fifties television game show spoof showcases the trio's comedic and musical talents. Wonderful singing and jazzy instrumental arrangements are applied to the hits of Doris Day and Dinah Shore while the audience guesses which diva was the hit-maker! Click here for more info.

• HELP PLANT A NEW FOREST: Kia ora koutou. Awhi Papatuanuku by volunteering to assist Riki Bennett ( Alone Ranger oops I mean Parks Ranger) to celebrate Matariki in new planting of the whenua ......Planting Day. Pae o Te Rangi. 27 June 2012, 10am. Location: Meet at the stock yards corner of Bethells and Te Henga Roads. Come and be part of creating a new forest on your Auckland Council farm park, Pae O Te Rangi. What to bring: Gumboots and a spade that is clearly marked and lots of enthusiasm.

LIFE/ART CLASS: Dance and art take us on a journey home
to the soul, uncovering the deeper meaning of our lives, our
truth and knowing. Creative Juice Life/Art Classes at
Laingholm.
Lou is an experienced teacher of the
Tamlapa Life/Art process, and visual artist. Each class is
themed and begins from the ground of body awareness and
integration, to personal and group interactions, and
explorations of self in movement, drawing, painting, and
poetic writing. Those with or without previous dance or art
experience are equally welcome. If you love to dance or
paint or are terrified to, this class is for you!! Please
wear loose comfortable layered clothing. The class is
fortnightly. Beginning Thursday May 17, 31 June 14, 28.
