Church: Hindrance or Help to Faith?
Church: Hindrance or Help to Faith?
This week's guest In Conversation with Noel Cheer on Triangle Television, Rinny Westra, has travelled the path of an increasing number of clergy. He initially experienced what is usually termed a "call" to be a Christian minister of religion, only to eventually experience a disillusionment about the way in which religious institutions themselves seem to get in the way of the compassion and integrity that they feel is the true heart of Christianity. New Zealand has several such "renegade" figures who take the institutional church to be as much a hindrance as a help to the exercise of faith.
Triangle Television, Wednesday 20th of June at 7:00pm and repeated Thursday 21st of June at 12:30pm.
Triangle Television can be received in the Auckland region on UHF Channels 41, 42 and 52.
Triangle Television is also transmitted live on streaming TV – an emerging technology – which can be received (as a live feed) on broadband-connected computers throughout New Zealand and on Internet-connected television sets.
