Go for gold at Zoolympics 2012
Auckland Zoo is inviting all eager competitors to race in and take the 2012 Zoolympic Challenge - on at the Zoo these July holidays and every day until Sunday 12 August.
Everyone can be an official athlete and earn gold at Zoolympics 2012. Just give us your personal best against the world’s best as you venture around the Zoo and compete in our 10 Zoolympic challenges.
But be warned, the competition is fierce! A cheetah can run 75km an hour, a siamang gibbon can hang from a branch for an hour, and a kangaroo can jump 9 metres. How fast and far can you go? In the lead-up to, and during the Olympic Games, have fun finding out how you match up against extraordinary wildlife as you run, jump, hang and hop in our 10 challenges to get gold.
As well as earning gold, all competitors can be in with a chance to win great prizes.
Zoolympics 2012 is on daily (9.30am – 5pm) at Auckland Zoo from Saturday 30 June until Sunday 12 August. Normal Zoo admission prices apply. Friends of the Zoo, free. For further details visit www.aucklandzoo.co.nz
