Turoa Hosts Awesome Demo Day And After Party

Turoa Hosts Awesome Demo Day And After Party

Skiers and snowboarders heading to Turoa Ski Area next week can test out the latest equipment, enjoy some on-piste DJ tunes and then kick back at an awesome after party during a day-long celebration of snow sports.

A special ‘Welcome to Winter’ day takes place at the North Island resort on Friday 20 July hosted by Go Snow, the national snow industry body.

All major equipment manufacturers are offering professional advice on the best set up for different snow conditions and levels of experience. Auckland DJ Stephen Buckley is mixing up some tunes on the slopes before the after party ramps up that evening in the Powderhorn Chateau’s Powerkeg bar.

Jo Lynch, Go Snow marketing coordinator, said it was a great way to kick off a long weekend on Mt Ruapehu.

“Welcome to Winter is all about giving local skiers and riders the chance to try this season’s gear and have fun on and off the hill. Whether you’re a young grom or a seasoned weekend warrior, drop by our tents at the Top of the Giant chairlift and enjoy an extra special day up the hill. Then grab a wristband to receive a free cocktail at the after party,” she said.

Welcome to Winter runs from 10am-4pm at Turoa Ski Area with the after party at the Powderhorn Chateau’s Powderkeg bar starting at 5pm.
