Sunday Night Goes Local on TV One

TV ONE has announced a new Sunday night programme line-up for September that showcases the best of New Zealand content.

Two of the network's hottest new shows will run back to back during primetime, making Sunday a night New Zealanders will not want to miss.

The keenly-awaited new entertainment show New Zealand's Got Talent will go to air at 7.30, followed by the second series of the hugely popular local drama Nothing Trivial.

New Zealand's Got Talent is the largest entertainment production undertaken by TV ONE in a decade, while Nothing Trivial broke all records for the premiere of a New Zealand drama series last year.

For the duration of the "Talent" series, high profile current affairs show Sunday will follow immediately after ONE News in a concentrated half-hour format.

Head of News and Current Affairs, Ross Dagan, says staffing and resources for Sunday will be maintained at the same level, and priority will be given to New Zealand content. The programme will return to its long form when the" Talent" series has finished.

Head of TV ONE and TV2, Jeff Latch, says the primetime programme schedule has something for everyone, and it's all local.

"News and Current Affairs is consolidated in the early part of the evening, family entertainment follows, and the drama Nothing Trivial, which performed so well in its first series, is expected to draw excellent viewership," he says. "We feel this is the kind of Sunday night people will go out of their way to watch."
