Stunning bluebird day kicks off the freestyle action at the Mt Ruapehu Xtreme
The weather gods turned on the stunning weather for the first day of the Mt Ruapehu Xtreme, held yesterday at Mt Ruapehu’s Whakapapa Ski Area.
Whakapapa’s Pinnacles saw New Zealand’s best freestyle Kiwi skiers and boarders take on top international talent who’ve travelled to New Zealand for the popular event. Organisers said the weather and ideal conditions provided the perfect platform for competitors.
The Mt Ruapehu Xtreme is a three-star qualification event for the Freeride World Tour. The event continues today and tomorrow, and is being streamed live via www.mtruapehu.com for those unable to make it to the mountain to view the event.
