All Day Cable Car Marathon for Charity - 29 September 2012
All Day Cable Car Marathon for Charity- Saturday 29 September 2012
Upper Hutt resident Paul Lambert will ride the Wellington Cable Car all day from 8:30am until 10pm on Saturday 29th September, repeating his venture of August 1996 when he established an unofficial record of 100 trips in a day.
This time the event will be a fundraising project for the Wellington Children’s Hospital which is celebrating 100 years this year!
As well as donations from passengers, Paul Lambert last time collected signatures from 14 nationalities in a visitor’s book during the long journey and hopes to exceed that this time.
Paul now works at Photography by Woolf based in Cable Car Lane who are producing a fundraising child portrait book for Wellington Children’s Hospital.
During the school holidays, families can combine a trip on the Cable Car with a fundraising portrait session at Photography by Woolf.
“Hospi” the Wellington Children’s Hospital life-sized mascot will make an appearance at the top of the Cable Car at 1 pm on Saturday 29th September during the Cable Car Marathon.
