Help the YMCA attempt to break
into the Guinness Book of Records at the World Challenge
Day!
Did you know that in
1890 the YMCA invented basketball? YMCA centres all over
New Zealand and the world are going to attempt to break the
world record for the largest amount of people shooting
basketball hoops at the same time. On Saturday the 13th of
October the YMCA Tauranga is attempting to break into the
Guinness book of records at Baypark arena.
Everyone in the Bay of Plenty is invited to attend the world challenge event and join the Tauranga YMCA from 10am to 2pm to attempt to break the record. There will be prizes and entry is just gold coin donation, with proceeds going towards YMCA programmes.
It will be a huge event with heaps of competitions and prizes during the day. Sponsors of the event include FIBA, Sport Bay of Plenty, ED Sports, United Nations and Basketball Bay of Plenty.
