Gatorade to boost elite Kiwi athletes through coaching clinic with Usain Bolt

Gatorade is giving rising Kiwi athletic stars the chance to train with the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt.

Eight New Zealand track and field athletes will take part in a coaching clinic with Usain Bolt on October 8, at AUT Millennium on Auckland’s North Shore.

“Gatorade is committed to helping all athletes improve their performance and this is a way for us to do that for the great talent we have in this country,” says Mark Callaghan, CEO of Frucor, the official New Zealand distributor of Gatorade.

Athletics New Zealand is working with Gatorade on the coaching clinic and has selected some of New Zealand’s leading sprinters to take part.

“We want to thank Gatorade for bringing Usain Bolt to New Zealand. It’s rare to have the chance to get close to such a world-class athlete and all those involved will benefit greatly from the experience,” says Scott Newman, CEO of Athletics New Zealand.

In addition to the coaching clinic, Gatorade will initiate its commitment to assisting top local sportspeople through the expertise of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI). GSSI was established in 1985 to share and develop knowledge on sports nutrition and exercise science to enhance the performance and well-being of athletes worldwide.
