Second selection of New Zealand’s Got Talent semi-finalists announced

A Canterbury diva, a Sonny Bill Williams look-alike and an inspirational grandmother are amongst the second selection of 30 semi-finalists to be announced on TV ONE’s New Zealand’s Got Talent.

New Zealand’s Got Talent judges Jason Kerrison, Rachel Hunter and Ali Campbell have chosen five more of their favourite acts to go through to the next round of the competition.

Christchurch student and Broadway hopeful, Rosie Roulette stunned the judges with her quirky take on a cabaret classic.

Seventeen-year-old Tawaroa Kawana had Rachel Hunter in tears with his emotional rendering of a Rod Stewart hit.

The show’s most senior contestant, 91-year-old Olivia Turner charmed with her elegant performance from My Fair Lady.

Talent went to the dogs when farm girl Chelsea Marriner and her friends Shift, Quest, Spy and Flash forecast the weather.

And fitness instructor, Chris Olwage pulled out all the stops with his dark and mysterious Black Swan.

The five new semi-finalists will perform for the judges again in next week’s episode of New Zealand’s Got Talent, when viewers will be able to text vote for their favourites and the results of tonight’s show will also be revealed.

Tonight saw ‘Big’ Dane Moeke, Connor Masseurs, Andre Vegas and Company, Bethany Waugh and Jessie Hillel competing for a place in the Grand Final.

Australian Idol runner-up and star of the movie The Sapphires, Jessica Mauboy also performed for the studio audience.

New Zealand’s Got Talent, Sunday at 7.30 pm on TV ONE.
