Junior cycling selector resigns
BikeNZ BRT junior selector Peter McCarthy has resigned after three years of voluntary service to New Zealand cycling.
McCarthy was involved in many successful junior cycling campaigns and displayed a selfless commitment to developing the grassroots level of his chosen sport.
“Peter has contributed a great deal in his time as a junior selector. He has acted in a professional manner and has always worked in the best interest of the athletes,” said former BRT President Garry Bell.
“He’s a good guy and it’s sad that he has chosen to take this road but we’ve had some great times together and his contributions, in particular in road cycling, are much appreciated.”
“Peter has been analytical and thorough in his selection processes and a great servant to the sport during his time in this role,” said BRT President Ivan Aplin.
