Press Release -
Inverlochy Art School
Students of Inverlochy Art School's Simply Silver jewellery courses will be showing and selling their work at the school, providing a great opportunity for Christmas gift purchase.
All students have been tutored by Sue Shore, renowned throughout New Zealand and internationally for her jewellery. (www.offshorejewellery.co.nz)
Among the students are several experienced and proficient jewellers who have achieved individual success. Pieces on display demonstrate high levels of creative design and workmanship.
Within the students is a group of 11 jewellers who have formed a cooperative to promote and sell their jewellery. Named Inpreciousmetal Jewellers, the group is dedicated to crafting wearable quality jewellery. Their very successful debut exhibition at Thistle Hall earlier this year showcased the members' varied individual styles.
The public is invited to visit the combined exhibition to view an exciting collection of rings, necklaces, brooches, pendants, bangles, bracelets, earrings - all meticulously handmade. Most of the items on sale are made of sterling silver but there are also copper, brass, gem and stone pieces.
Inverlochy Art School, 3 Inverlochy Place, Te Aro, Wellington. Tel 04 939 2177. The exhibition and sale opens on Friday 16 November at 5:30pm and is open to the public 10am to 5:30pm daily until midday Thursday 22 November.
