Hillclimb Championship Announced
Otago Sports Car Club is pleased to announce the first round of the Otago Metals Sealed Speed Championship for two-wheel drive cars this weekend.
The historic Patmos Ave Hillclimb on Sunday December 16th is the first of four rounds in the Championship run over this summer (run concurrently with OSCC’s regular Speed Championship), which includes a new round, the historic Ngapara hillclimb, near Oamaru.
The Championship is open to non-OSCC members, and is hoping to encourage new competitors into motorsport, as well as the return of some non-regular competitors.
Normal road cars with a warrant-of-fitness will be eligible with some simple safety modifications (ie a fire extinguisher). Competitor eligibility is as simple as obtaining a competition licence and being a member of an MSNZ affiliated club like OSCC.
OSCC welcomes enquiries from potential first-time competitors, and strongly recommends doing this before the day.
