Tickets now available to Coromandel ‘Concert in the vines’
Tickets are now available for ‘Concert in the vines’, a relaxing day in the Coromandel sun with music, fine food and wine, at picturesque Mercury Bay Estate and Lonely Bay Vineyard, to raise funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s new Whitianga hangar.
Enjoy a picnic by the pond in picturesque surroundings while listening to music from one of New Zealand’s most prominent country music stars Tami Neilson, plus Anna Hawkins and The Shy & Retiring Company.
Some of the Coromandel Peninsula’s
favourite wine and cuisine will be on offer and local wines
will be available for purchase at the cellar door. The event
is fully licensed or you can bring your own food and
non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Coromandel Rescue Helicopter Trust (CRHT) Hangar Appeal. CRHT has built a new hangar and crew accommodation facility to house the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in Whitianga to help serve the Coromandel community.
CEO of Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, Bob Parkinson says rescue helicopter missions to the Coromandel and Thames region have increased by 85 per cent in the last four years and there are now more than 200 rescue missions per year to the area by air rescue services.
“The Coromandel Rescue Helicopter Trust provides satellite support for the normally Auckland based Westpac Rescue Helicopters. Having crew on site and in the Coromandel region saves valuable time and increases the likelihood of survival in a life threatening emergency,” says Mr Parkinson.
