MEDIA RELEASE - TRI
for a new start and healthy life
Everyday women across New Zealand are putting the scales aside in favour of a new motivation, to train for the Bissell Women’s Series, an accessible series of entry level women’s only triathlon and Duathlon events, in early 2013.
TRI NZ has broken the barriers of involvement by addressing the main issues that prevent women from exercising, based on a recent survey commissioned. The experts within TRI NZ, have worked in conjunction with leaders in the field to offer expert motivation and time creation tips for an entry level series for everyday women. This will enable them to participate in the series and train for it within the realistic constraints of a busy life. A ‘You for Two’ incentive has also been initiated this year that offers a discount when you sign up for two events or with a friend.
Although they are all aiming for the same goal, the motivation for each participant is different. Feedback from entrants is diverse and includes reasons such as getting fit and healthy, weight loss, being a great role model for their kids and making them selves a priority. For some, it’s about having something to focus on during a difficult time of their lives, for others like Rose Anna Feist a 35 year old breast cancer survivor and mother of two, from Te Puke, the driving force is to raise sponsorship for New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) -the official charity. “I’ve just had a year of treatment and next year for me is all about healing, getting fitter and healthier. Being sponsored adds another dimension to participating for me and I want to raise money for the NZBCF so that I do my bit in helping other women get the resources they need and to raise awareness.”
The aforementioned survey highlighted
that time is the biggest barrier to exercise for women. 71
per cent of women said they would exercise more if time
allowed. Robyn Pearce of www.gettingagrip.com has come on
board to provide expert tips and time saving techniques that
really do ‘create’ time where you thought it was
impossible. With 20 years expertise, 6 children, a
successful career and a regular exercise routine that she
swears by, she really has earned her title as
internationally renowned time management expert.
Lee-Anne Wann, Health & Fitness Consultant, Presenter
& Author will be keeping kiwi women on track throughout the
training period with tips on nutrition and the team at TRI
NZ have set the benchmark of attainable training with a
