Could Benedict's
Resignation Be Good News For The Tea Pot Faith?
With the shock resignation of Pope Benedict the 16th Father Clive Earl Grey is hoping this will be good news for the Church of the Tea Pot. Father Clive is hoping that a newly elected Pope would overturn the Tea Pot Faith's excommunication which quickly occurred after the faith was founded last year. Pope Benedict the 16th, responsible for the excommunication of the Tea Pot Faith stated that their belief in a Tea Pot which orbits the Sun somewhere between Earth and Mars, and a belief in this Tea Pot's son the Invisible Unicorn, was inconsistent with the principles of Catholicism.
Father Clive had this to say, "too long has our faith floundered in a quagmire between Catholicism and heresy. Our numbers of the faithful have shrank and our morale has been very low as of late. My sermons have taken on a very forlorn tone in the past year. However, no more! Soon we may find ourselves with a Tea friendly leader in Rome who will bring our faith back to its rightful place within god's church."
The Tea Pot Faith has recently spent a great deal on marketing officers who have launched their Write In campaign for Census 2013. The hope is that the great publicity generated will lead people towards the faith.
On Saturday a rally was held in Wellington in support of the faith, and in the hopes of getting people to Write In "Tea Pot" as their faith in Census 2013. The church is pleased to have brought the word of the faith to "literally dozens" of Wellingtonians.
