Fundraising Event Date
Announced
It has been
announced that the 2013 Newmarket 'Shave for a Cure' fund
raising event will take place on Friday 8th March, 2013 at
the Lumsden Green, Newmarket (Corner Khyber Pass Road and
Broadway) from 5.30pm to late.
“Cancer does not discriminate and impacts people of any age, ethnicity, and socio-economic back ground. It is important that the community get behind causes such as 'Shave for a Cure', where vital support can be offered to those suffering with cancer, and support offered to their families.
“The Lumsden team and the Newmarket business community raised over $25,000.00 for 'Shave for a Cure' in 2012, and we aim to raise much more this year for this special cause. “We want to make this event a great night and raise as much money as possible. If any other organisations or businesses would like to get involved with this event, it would be gratefully appreciated. If businesses could donate gifts, or people volunteer to get their heads shaved, we would love to hear from you,” says Lucie Campbell, the Events and Marketing Manager for the Lumsden and Sugar Bar.
New
Zealand acoustic music artist and producer Riqi Harwira,
national electronic dance music DJ Wade Marriner, and
Auckland jazz and blues singer Petra Rijnbeek, will be
providing entertainment over the course of the evening. A
number of celebrities and local and national politicians
will also be in attendance throughout the evening.
