Chance to See New Generation NZV8 Holden
Up Close
Total Lubricants
in Taupo is holding an open invitation event today (Thursday
7 March) where members of the public can see up close the
New Generation Holden Commodore driven by Nick Ross in this
season of the NZV8s.
Public are welcome to attend a barbecue and meet driver Nick Ross while checking out the Total Lubricants Holden Commodore which will be on display from 4 to 6pm.
The New Generation of NZV8 race cars all share identical controlled chassis, differential and six speed sequential gear box but must run it's own manufacturer's engine and must be a V8.
The Total Lubricant Holden Commodore runs a Chevrolet LS3 6.2 litre engine.
Today's event is at Total Lubricants, 33 Broadlands Road in Taupo.
The fourth round of the NZV8s is held this weekend at the Taupo Motorsport Park with the first practice session Friday afternoon.
Qualifying takes place Saturday morning along with a shoot-out with race one in the afternoon followed by races two and three on Sunday.
Currently Nick Ross sits in third place with two
rounds remaining, fellow Holden driver Jason Bargwanna leads
the series followed by Martin Short in a Toyota.
"I can't
wait to get back into the car once more and seeing how those
changes we made to the set up of the car work out. We plan
to beat Bargwanna this weekend." said Ross.
A second
Toyota V8 Camry joins the series this weekend with Brent
Collins returning to the NZV8s.
"I'm really looking
forward to the second Toyota coming into the series and
racing against Brent again." he said.
The fifth and final
round of the NZV8s Premiere Race Championship Series takes
place at Pukekohe over the weekend of 12-14th April
alongside the Australian V8
Supercars.
