A New Addition To The Comedy Tour Bus!

NEW ZEALAND COMEDY TRUST PRESENTS
2DEGREES COMEDY CONVOY
HOSTED BY EWEN GILMOUR

It’s the epic two-week comedy road trip that see’s the NZ International Comedy Festival cruising up and down the country – with our favourite ‘Westie’ Ewen Gilmour behind the wheel! The 2degrees Comedy Convoy brings you a top shelf selection of the best local and international comedy stars to 12 locations over 13 shows from 13 - 26 May! This 2-hour showcase will be crammed with laughs and a stonking line-up of talent.

Joining the line-up is American globe-trotter Tom Rhodes. Tom is a travel writer for the Huffington Post and an acclaimed stand-up comedian, that the New York Times says has ‘a natural intellect with a knack for reporting the harsh realities of life with a dark and absurdly optimistic cynicism’. Tom replaces Fiona O’Loughlin on the tour, who has unfortunately had to withdraw after suffering serious health issues.

Sitting in the passenger seats alongside the NZ Comedy Guild’s ‘Male Comedian of the Decade’ is Nelson born Guy Williams, last year’s Billy T Award winner and regular on TV3’s Jono & Ben at Ten. Expect May 20th to be a homecoming of sorts for the local boy, as the Convoy hits Nelson – demonstrating his rapid rise to stardom on the New Zealand comedy circuit.

They are joined by the winner of The Fred Award (2010), 7 Days regular and star of TV3’s comedy series Golden, Jesse Griffin – whose understated delivery and clever observational humour marks him as one of NZ’s most sought after performers.

Representing the Brits on the Convoy this year is none other than Chris Martin* - bringing intelligent material to audiences, along side his own brand of playful, immature humour. Chris’s original social commentary, observations and anecdotes have become his trademark in recent years; so has being asked how Gwyneth is… less said, the better.
"…a totally awesome night, we were in tears by the end of it" Jo Donoghue [actual person]

* This Chris Martin is not currently, nor ever has been, in Coldplay.
