Secure status at The Roxy Charity Ball

Secure status at The Roxy Charity Ball

The Roxy Great Gatsby Charity Ball is looking to be Wellington’s social event of the season, and best of all, the invitation is open to the public.

On 14 June 2013 the iconic cinema will host a lavish 1920s party in aid of Ronald McDonald House. Tickets are on sale now but are limited, so those keen to rub shoulders with the best, and the brightest are advised not to dally.

“This will be a fabulous charity event. In the spirit of the Great Gatsby, and the decadence of the early 1920s, we’re going all out with this ball. It will be a lavish party with celebrities, jazz music, ice sculptures, and entertainment,” says Caroline Arapoff, Events Manager for The Roxy.

The Coco at the Roxy restaurant team has put together a stunning menu of 1920s treats including silver dollar sliders, salmon vols-au-vent with capers and caviar, towers of éclairs, doughnuts, brownies and fruit, and iconic cocktails for the event.

“There will be dancing in the main lobby, music and entertainment downstairs, and poker tables and a photo booth in our Grand Lobby. There will be something for everyone,” says Caroline.

“The dress code is strictly ‘1920s best’, such as flapper dresses, tuxedos and tails, fascinators, and boas. We’re excited to see the different looks created by those coming. Tickets for the ball are selling fast so we recommend people secure their ticket soon to avoid disappointment.”
