Wooly Riot's First Public Yarn Bombing

Wooly Riot, Palmerston North's homegrown yarn-bombing group, would like to draw your attention to its first PUBLIC yarn bombing on Saturday, 8 June from 10am to 4 pm on Coleman Mall.
Here some information about the project as it will
unfold:
5 of Wooly Riot's six members will be waiting in
a gazebo (heated, we hope) on Coleman Mall outside Knit
World with ample supplies of yarn, needles and chairs,
encouraging passers-by to knit or crochet a flower, leaf or
vine. We will teach anyone who does not know how to knit or
crochet! No money will change hands, this is a totally free
event. All ages and skill levels sought!
The crafted items will be attached to the bare trees in Coleman Mall. We are hopeful that the colourful woolen addition to the winter trees will brighten that part of Palmy over the colder months. This street art project received funding from Creative New Zealand via the Community Arts Fund Palmerston North.
