Hook Ups Episode Six Goes Live with Their Own X Factor
Packed with talent show buzz and laughs, the web cartoon, Hook Ups has just released episode 6 of the series.
Created and written by musician, Coco Solid aka Jess Hansell the series is proving a hit with New Zealanders. Hook Ups tells the hilarious tales of the musical twins Kowhai and Monty Hook who live in fictional town, Aroha Bridge.
Viewers can interact with the story using a purpose built iPhone app to collaborate with their friends to make the soundtrack for future episodes.
Taking a spin on television talent shows, Hook Ups episode 6 has the ‘Aroha Bridge Factor’. Kowhai wants to audition and win the local competition and insists on a cheeky lie to ensure it happens.

Hook Ups was originally a comic-strip and has been animated into 10 x 3min episodes for broadcast that can be found on www.youtube.com/hookupstv.
Cast includes musician, Coco Solid aka Jess Hansell, Rizvan Tu’itahi (Monty), Scotty Cotter (#1 fan and cousin Ira) Madeleine Sami (the twin’s hippy Mum) and Frankie Stevens (their excessively macho ex-vet Dad).
Production team includes Don Brooker (Illustrator), Simon Ward (Director), Daniel Too and Tim Checkley (App developers). The series was funded by New Zealand on Air’s Digital Media Fund.
