Jammies to kids in need
Auckland, New Zealand – June 18, 2013 –The Kiwi Mum who brought the Pepi Snugglesuit to the New Zealand market has joined the Jammie Army.
Auckland Mum Olivia Haddon is supporting Middlemore Foundation’s annual appeal Jammies in June to bring some comfort and warmth to kids in need this winter.
“Joining Jammies in June is our way of giving something back to the local community and an opportunity for Mums to help other Mums keep their kids warm and healthy,” says Olivia.
The purpose of Jammies in June is to help keep kids warm and hopefully lessen the high rates of preventable illness in children such as Acute Rheumatic Fever, a disease usually only found in third world countries but prevalent in Counties Manukau. Jammies can keep little chests warm during cold winter nights and decrease hospital admissions for asthma.
“There are two ways the community can help kids who are treated at Kidz First Children’s Hospital and Community Health. People can buy a pair of jammies for a child in need through our website.”
“The second way is to purchase a ‘Kidz First Ted’ from our online store. This teddy has been specifically made for Kidz First and $10 from each sale goes directly to the Middlemore Foundation so that they can continue with their important work.”
Olivia says that Pepi Kids is proud to be a part of the annual appeal and hopes people will get behind this initiative.
“At Pepi Kids this issue is very close to our hearts and we will continue to lend our support in any way that we can. We will also be compiling a direct donation of Pepi sleepwear seconds and samples to boost donations from the public.”
“We believe it’s important to do what we can to help the children of our local community and we urge everyone to do what they can; it all helps.”
