Midwinter John Waters Party with Gold Medal Famous

Midwinter John Waters Party with Gold Medal Famous and Warwick and the Wankers

Celebrate "the Pope of Trash" John Waters at Understudy (80 Cuba Street, Wellington) on Saturday June 22, where Warwick and The Wankers and Gold Medal Famous will entertain you – for free!

Warwick and the Wankers: Warwick Donald is also behind Control 6580 and plays drums for Kittentank. He’ll slay your eardrums with Commodore 64 Rhythm, Hammond bass pedal crypt crunch and liquid guitar fury.

Avant-garde pop group Gold Medal Famous revel in a wide variety of genres, and their shows involve controlled stage mayhem described accurately by an audience member recently as: "A little bit of love you, a little bit of f**k you". Playing live is all important for Gold Medal Famous - soaring guitars, a squealing theremin, pounding electronic beats, futuristic synths, light-speed laptops, creative cornet, pulsating percussion, generous gimmicks and a frontman for whom the world is his stage.

Extra entertainment on the night includes a John Waters raffle (the mind boggles!)

Set times

9.30pm Warwick and The Wankers

10.30pm Gold Medal Famous

Doors at 8.30pm. It'll be "Divine".
