Kinsman on the Podium in Queensland

Kiwi karter Daniel Kinsman has enjoyed another strong performance in Australia, the young Aucklander ending up third in the Rotax Light class at the penultimate round of the Rotax Pro Tour in Gympie on Queensland's Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

After qualifying in fourth place Kinsman finished seventh in the first heat, sixth in the second and fourth in the third before going from fifth to second in the Pre-Final then ending up third - after battling for second all race - in the Final.

Reigning Australian champion Pierce Lehane was again the dominant figure in the class, qualifying quickest and winning all three heats, the Pre-Final and the Final, the latter from from Daniel Rochford and Kinsman with Tyler Greenbury fourth and Andrew Carey fifth.

The other New Zealand driver in the field, Daniel Connor from Helensville also had a good day, qualifying 10th and finishing the Final in eighth place.

The focus of the Australian series now turns to the final round at the annual Rotax Nationals meeting at Pukapunyal in central Victoria over the August 31-September 01 weekend.
