The post-apocalyptic fairy tale Unforgotten will premiere on 12-14 September at 7.30pm at Elmwood Auditorium in Christchurch. This project is presented by the new theatre collective NO Productions.
A university professor and a busker musician are accidentally left behind in a contaminated city after a major nuclear disaster. Hoping to catch the last evacuation train at an abandoned railway station, they discover a strange winged creature…
Unforgotten is an original play written by Ukrainian native and Christchurch resident Nataliya Oryshchuk. Initially inspired by Tohby Riddle’s poem about a tired angel, it evolved into a story based on Nataliya’s childhood memories and impressions of Chernobyl’s nuclear disaster. It is a touching and thought-provoking tale of survival and hope in a surreal post-apocalyptic world. “And I used to think, there must be someone… To watch over, to warm and to mend… Secretly, quietly…”
The team of NO Productions - Nataliya Oryshchuk (writer, producer, actress), Damien McGrath (director) and Charlotte Crone (composer) - join with two Christchurch actors: Aaron Richardson (Musician) and Andrew Bell (Professor).
