Turnbull
Cartoonist, novelist, illustrator
and blogger, Sarah Laing will be speaking about her work, in
Wellington on Thursday 22 August.
She is the 2013 Michael King Writers Centre/University of Auckland Writer-in-residence, where she is writing a graphic novel about Katherine Mansfield. Her second novel has just been published to very good reviews.
Sarah’s blog – “Let me be Frank” all about her life as a writer and mother has been going since 2010. It takes the form of a web comic. Her talk will be about the risky business of over-sharing your private life online.
The lunch-time talk ties-in with the current exhibition at the Library’s Turnbull Gallery, Logs to Blogs: Diaries from the Turnbull Library, which features her work along with that of 11 other ‘diarists’.
When: Thursday, 22 August, 12.10 pm
Where: Ground floor, National Library, Molesworth Street
