Oracle add intrigue to Cup predictions
After their comeback victory in race four of the America’s Cup this morning, it looks like national hero turned antagonist Russell Coutts and his Team Oracle USA aren’t going down without a fight against Grant Dalton and Team New Zealand.
So TAB are letting New Zealand yachting fans predict just how much fight Oracle have got in them.
“Oracle have shown today that these two syndicates are evenly matched and as Oracle pick up more race day experience, they may well take this to the wire,” says TAB yachting bookmaker Kieran McAnulty. “So we’ve come up with some options that will give America’s Cup fans a chance to predict just how close Oracle can get.”
As well as overall winner and race winner, fans can now have a go picking the daily race score as well as the race winning margin in ten second increments.
“The daily score allows fans to select how many races are won by the respective teams, while the race winning margin is probably the most exciting option on our book at the moment,” says McAnulty. “There are a huge amount of knowledgeable yachting fans in New Zealand who will love that option, being able to back Team New Zealand to put a good time on Team Oracle USA, particularly with the healthy odds available.”
Although Team New Zealand are still short favourites, Oracle will have gained confidence on the back of their eight second win this morning.
Team New Zealand need six wins to bring the Auld Mug home, while Team Oracle USA need to win 10 races to retain it.
