It’s time to get in the pink!

16th September 2013

It’s time to get in the pink!

It’s time to get in the pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Registrations for this year’s Boot Camp for Breast Cancer, an annual fundraiser organised by local charitable trust, The Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust, have now opened.

The trust has already confirmed corporate sponsorship for the event to the value of $7000 thanks to local businesses, and expects to raise further funds through, registration fees ($15 per person) and personal sponsorship from participants.

Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust trustee, Mrs Kim Miccio says, “Our goal this year is to have 250 people take part in the event, which would bring $3750 in registration fees. If each of those people then raised $30 in personal sponsorship that’s a further $7500!” She continues, “We’re encouraging people to register for the event and then raise as much as they can in personal sponsorship, with a grand prize draw for all those who raise over $100.”

Local trainer, Mr Greg Witika, owner of Wairua Body Coaching Systems, runs the event on behalf of the Trust. He says, “It’s always a great morning out and suitable for all fitness levels, it’s definitely not hard core Boot Camp, the emphasis is very much on having fun and dressing in pink! I’ll be dusting off my tutu!”

The event, at the Nelson Girl’s College, takes place on October 19th, 2013. Registrations are open at www.nrbct.co.nz. All funds raised at the event stay in the local area.
