Islam and the West
Islam and the West
Despite the three middle eastern paths of faith -- Judaism, Christianity and Islam -- sharing Abraham as a common founder, there is much dissension and only some inter-faith dialogue between these faith systems. The West accuses the Islamic faith of resisting moves to adapt to the times, in claiming that being born of a divine revelation, it may not be questioned. This has significant implications for any path of faith that is practiced in the modern world. In Conversation with Noel Cheer this week we will look at that, and other, similar perceptions. The guest will be the Head of Islamic Studies in the Department of Philosophy in the University of Auckland, Dr Zain Ali. "In Conversation with Noel Cheer", Face Television, Monday September 23rd at 7:00pm, repeated on Tuesday September 24th at 12 noon.
