Dinosaurs coming to life at Butterfly Creek

Dinosaurs coming to life at Butterfly Creek

Butterfly Creek is stomping into new territory this summer with plans for a New Zealand’s first dinosaur park attraction that will take visitors on a journey into the prehistoric world.

Opening in January, ‘Dinosaur Kingdom’ will be the first of its kind in the New Zealand and will include static and animatronic dinosaurs, some up to 23 metres in length, as well as skeleton displays and fossil replicas.

“‘Dinosaur Kingdom’ will take visitors on a visual and tactile journey as they immerse themselves in a new land full of dinosaurs,” says Butterfly Creek General Manager, John Dowsett. “Visitors can walk among the enormous herbivores and fierce carnivores that inhabit ‘Dinosaur Kingdom’, including a massive tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops and diplodocus.”

Representing dinosaurs from different ages, ‘Dinosaur Kingdom’ at Butterfly Creek will take you back to an era that existed millions of years ago. It will be the home of more than 40 dinosaurs, resembling multiple types and sizes of species of these extinct creatures.

“Nowhere else in New Zealand can you witness life-like dinosaurs, as well as unique tropical butterfly and crocodile encounters,” says John.
