Rhys Darby Voices Kiwi-Made Kids’ iPad Book App for Yoozoo Books

Comedian Rhys Darby provides narration and sound effects for kiwi-made interactive children's story book app available from Apple's App Store.

Yoozoo Books, a new children's book app publisher, today announced the release of Have You Heard, a children’s story book and game app for iPad. With narration and sound effects from Rhys Darby, the app is for kids of all ages.

Have You Heard is a comedy tale set down on the farm about a case of "barnyard whispers". The app offers readers different ways to watch and play the story. It can be read out loud or Rhys can be selected to read instead. "Darby Mode" includes an original score and self-generated sound effects for the characters, farm machinery and even inanimate items such as a turnip.

"Rhys' rendition of a turnip has to be a world first," says author Julian Stokoe. "He creates engaging sound effects and character voices that really brings the story to life. Children will be captivated listening and interacting with the screen. Parents will also enjoy the humor and illustrations especially when they can sit back and let Rhys take over the reading duties."

In addition to an interactive story, the Have You Heard app comes bundled with a memory game to help kids learn while they're having fun dragging and dropping items around the screen. The story's interactive items can also be turned off so that readers' attention isn't distracted from the progress of the story.

Featuring lovable characters, playful sounds and colorful animations, Have You Heard is an app where the interactivity doesn't get in the way of a classic yarn.

Now available exclusively on the App Store, Have You Heard offers parents a fun tale to read out loud and a game to play with their little ones. It also gives them the option to take the night off and let Rhys Darby tell a tale that will engage, educate and entertain.
