Mt Eden - The Sky Is Gold Summer Tour

Mt Eden - The Sky Is Gold Summer Tour

Mt Eden will take their dynamic blend of modern electronic soundscapes and classical orchestration to the country’s summer hot spots this December and January, conjuring up an evocative experience both warm and wild.

The New Zealand-born and New York-based duo of Jesse Cooper and Harley Rayner have come along way since their inception in 2009, drumming up a serious underground buzz with their track 'Sierra Leone', and racking up an immense online presence - currently clocking in at an impressive 98 million-and-counting YouTube views and 320-plus Facebook "likes" - more than any other New Zealand act, ever.

Initially crafting an amalgamation of dubstep and drum 'n' bass, Mt Eden float to new heights with their latest EP, Walking On Air, challenging not only themselves but the EDM community as a whole. The duo teamed up with renowned string arranger Larry Gold (Kanye West, Eminem, Jay-Z) to create a sophisticated dance sheen with irresistible floor-filling hooks. The EP was released through a partnership with New York-based label Ultra Records, also home to DeadMau5, Calvin Harris, Wolf Gang Gartner and Steve Aoki.

Live, Mt Eden continues to build on their dedicated fan-base across the globe. This year alone the duo has played everywhere from Electric Daisy Carnival and Coachella to Nocturnal Wonderland, only stopping by back home in September for a one-off and sold-out show at Auckland's Vector Arena alongside Lorde.

The Sky Is Gold tour will kick off in the pristine beach side town of Mangawhai on December 26 before making its way through Coroglen, Lower Hutt, Christchurch and Waihi. Special guests making appearances along the way include a who's who of NZ electronic artists - State of Mind, Nick D, Mt Mauganui dance duo PleasePlease, The Upbeats, Maya Vanya, Funk n Slo Cuts and Over Kill.
