Lydia Ko Tees Off as Ambassador for Children’s Medical Charity

Rotary Oceania Medial Aid for Children (ROMAC) NZ is delighted to announce the appointment of Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko as goodwill ambassador.

ROMAC NZ is a humanitarian programme providing urgent, life changing surgical treatment to children from developing countries in the Oceania region. Miss Ko is the first high profile ambassador to represent this worthwhile charity, which was established in 1988 and operates throughout New Zealand.

“I am excited about the opportunity to work with ROMAC,” says Lydia Ko. “This is a charity that does so much good for young children and I really hope that I can help make a difference.”

“We are thrilled to have Lydia come on board as our ambassador,” says Dr Eric Horne, Chairman of ROMAC New Zealand. “ROMAC has provided urgent surgical treatment for many children throughout the Pacific, but we know that there is so much more we could do; so many more children waiting that we could help. We hope that working with Lydia will help raise ROMAC’S profile so we can bring more of these children to New Zealand for their surgery.”

Many ROMAC children suffer from disfigurement caused by accidents such as burns ,or congenital conditions such as brain hernia, deformed limbs, or heart conditions. The children are treated and hosted in New Zealand as surgical treatment is not available in their home countries.
